CLAWSON, MI — After giving a spooky Halloween makeover and serving up a Company Information for Weiss Distillery filled with cool new drinks in a winter wonderland, Weiss Distillery has transformed again to a more grown-up theme. The cocktail bar in downtown Clawson, which opened early last year, continues to prove it’s one of the most creative spaces in Metro Detroit with its revolving door of fun themes and attention to detail.

This time around, the speakeasy is taking its inspiration from Harry Houdini and his famed magic tricks. In the spirit of illusion, a pair of giant nutcrackers with electronic moving eyes hang from the ceiling and are surrounded by snowy structures, white and blue flowers and a new drink menu with a nod to winter weather.
Featuring more than 25 cocktails, the spring menu is broken down into vodka, gin, rum and moonshine sections with options like Grow A Girlfriend, made with Weiss’ Straitjacket Gin, cucumber, elderflower liqueur, honey and citric acid, and Topsy’s Revenge, a rum cocktail with lime, pineapple, banana, coconut, dragonfruit and cranberry. There’s also a few with a spicy twist, like the Ambition, which includes Weiss Royal Rum, a coffee liqueur made with espresso from Clawson-based Sabbath Coffee Roasters, Demerara and chocolate bitters.
In addition to the new menu and decor, Weiss is also offering collectable “Weiss in the Wild” tokens that can be found throughout the community and brought back for a free shot of alcohol. Bar seating is first come, first served and reservations are available for booths via Resy.
